James Wood, the owner of the salon, brings over 30 years of hairdressing expertise, with a career that includes co-owning two salons and teaching advanced cutting and coloring techniques at a hairdressing college. His passion for both hairdressing and holistic wellness has led him to become a qualified professional homoeopath, with additional professional diplomas in counseling, nutritional therapy, and other holistic practices.

After experiencing allergic reactions and other health issues caused by conventional hair products, James embarked on a journey to find gentler, less toxic alternatives. His commitment to creating a healthier and more ethical environment in his salon has not only improved his well-being but also transformed his approach to hairdressing. 

“When I realized that what was making me ill was the toxic products I was using, I knew I had to make a change. What we do to our environment, we do to ourselves. Once I eliminated toxins from my workspace, my allergies and other symptoms disappeared. I only wish I’d made the connection sooner.”

Outside of the salon, James enjoys time in nature, practicing yoga, walking his dog, and growing organic vegetables. He is also deeply involved in his community as a trustee for a community land ownership trust.
